The Rectangular Flexdamper (RFD) is part of the award winning, patented Airzone System. This system makes retrofit zoning and other types of HVAC air control practical and affordable.
Flexdampers are designed to insert into the existing ductworks with little or no modification necessary. Multi-duct applications that would normally require multiple, conventional dampers and expensive sheet metal modifications can now be quickly and inexpensively retrofitted with Flexdampers.
Retrozone's Rectangular Flexdamper is designed to slip inside an existing section of sheet metal or ductboard. How they work: When a zone's thermostat calls for heat (or cool in the summer), the Dampers are deflated, allowing the air to flow through freely. Meanwhile, the dampers in ducts to zones that need no conditioned air are inflated by an air pump, puffing up to block airflow. The Solenoid valves, hooked to a pump (SPP Panel) hooked to most any HVAC Control Panel control the show.
Sizing to your ductwork: The RFDs are sold in 5 different sizes. They will fit ANY duct size from 06"x04" to 24"x12". This listing (RFD14x08) will fit 06"x04" to 14"x08".
